We’re excited to announce that we are moving!

In June, our Lexington programs will say goodbye to our beloved Lansdowne studio and will make a new studio home at 570 Delzan Place, First Floor (Suites 12-13). (Start date for classes at Delzan TBD.) Our Berea program will continue at First Christian Church, Berea.

Whether you’re currently a member of the McTeggart dance community, an alumnus, community supporter, or potential new dancer - we need and would absolutely love your help!

Make a donation to help build our studios

Our dancers’ safety and comfort are top priorities for the new studio build-out. Sprung floors in two studios will cost roughly $30,000; mirrors will cost an additional $9,000. These fully-outfitted studios will benefit not only our current dancers, but every community member who walks through our doors for fitness classes, ceilis (community dances), events, and celebrations. Each and every donation, no matter the size, will make a difference. Thank you in advance for your generosity and support of our dancers.

  • June 22, 2025: Visit and participate in the Bluegrass Feis! Every year, our non-profit booster club hosts the Bluegrass Feis (“fesh”), an event featuring music, art, soda bread, and dance competitions - including the non-competitive celebration of all styles of Irish dance through the “Cake Dance.” We’d love to have you visit and participate! Can you bake a delicious soda bread? Paint, draw, needlepoint, or craft a beautiful Irish landscape or other subject? Do you play Irish music? Want to share your love of dance in a non-competitive event? Sign up to participate or come to watch and enjoy the Bluegrass Feis!

    • To participate, first review the syllabus. Then, register to participate by June 6 on FeisWorx. Is this your first time registering for a feis? We’re here to help! Contact us.

    • To visit, simply join us at the Lexington Ice Center on Sunday, June 22, 8am-3pm. There is no official admission fee; suggested donation of $10/adult and $5/child for spectators.

  • Grand Opening Celebration: Stay tuned! We can’t wait to welcome you to our new space this summer.

Lend a hand with build-out, the move, and cleaning

In May and June 2025, we will be buzzing with activity! We’ll have work weekends at our Lansdowne studio to pack-up and move out, and we’ll have work weekends at the new space to clean-up and move in. We need your help!

Do you have:

  • Time to volunteer? (Opportunities for teens and adults)

  • A truck or van?

  • A drill?

  • A Shop-Vac?

  • Know-how to remove and install shelving, our cubby-hole benches, etc?

Sign-up to help.

Who are you helping?

McTeggart Irish Dancers-Kentucky is composed of two entities that exist in symbiotic and mutually-supportive relationship: our non-profit booster club, supporting all our students with a mission to celebrate and support Irish dancing and culture, and our owner/director’s business, which conducts the operations of the dance school. Tax-deductible contributions are made to support the mission of the non-profit through certain fundraisers*, donations, and sponsorships. Tuition and fee-based events and programs are offered through the dance school business (regular dance and fitness classes, Celtic Year Ceilithe, etc.).

Whether you make a donation or attend a fundraiser to benefit the non-profit, or you participate in a class or event hosted by the business, you are supporting our whole dance community and promoting the celebration of Irish culture in Central Kentucky. Specifically, you are helping us to:

  • Make classes as affordable as possible for our families, including partial or full scholarships for families in need of financial assistance;

  • Make costumes affordable and accessible through our costume rental program (costume rentals at $100 per year versus $700 to purchase new);

  • Share Irish dance with the community through performances at libraries, schools, senior living facilities, and more;

  • Fairly compensate and provide annual raises to our faculty members, who work tirelessly inside and outside the studio to bring high-quality dance education and encouraging coaching to all our students;

  • For our 2025 move – build and maintain safe and high-quality dance studios for our members and for the whole community.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your support! If you have questions, please feel free to reach out.
